Your donation supports the Blanco Family Fund for Advocacy and Family Support. The Fund, established by Achieva's Board of Trustees in 2017 (to honor Marsha Blanco's four decades of service to Achieva as its past President and CEO), helps countless people receive the assistance they need from Achieva’s advocates. Jeana Slutter
Jeana Slutter is an independent woman. With the support of her Achieva support staff, Jeana has recently moved into a home of her own. With her newfound independence, Jeana is thriving!
Jeana’s new home is minutes away from her job at a local fast food restaurant. Jeana works 5 days a week and is doing a wonderful job. Her Achieva job coach was visiting her at work every day, however, Jeana now works completely on her own two days a week. Jeana takes her job very seriously and is a trainer for new employees at the restaurant!
In her free time, Jeana loves getting to do what she chooses to do. She loves spending time with her dog, baking, and shopping. She also loves decorating her home and making it her own.
Although she has accomplished her goal of moving into a home of her own, there is still a lot that Jeana wishes to accomplish. Her next goal is to increase her alone time, in the hopes of achieving her long term goal of one day living completely on her own. Jeana has up to 4 hours of alone time each day. She now has a say about everything in her new place including selecting her supervisor and direct support professional (DSP). The staff room is located in the basement. Keeping that room out of sight but within reach serves as a way for her to transition to the alone time Jeana is capable of but never had before.
Everyone deserves to live a life of personal significance and achieve their goals. With your support today, more people like Jeana can live the lives they have always dreamed of.
